The problem isn't the map, it's the memory
Investment teams already have maps. What they don't have is anywhere for judgement to live. Deal insight gets written into slides, the deal ends, and the next one starts from zero. Grounded puts the analysis on the map itself, so what a team learns about a location compounds instead of evaporating.
Constraints make better products
Twenty-four hours forces you to answer one question: what's the single thing this has to do to be worth opening? Everything that didn't serve that got cut. Most of the decisions we'd defend now were made under that pressure.
Open data is a strategy, not a shortcut
Building on public UK datasets started as a way to ship fast without licensing costs. It turned out to be the more interesting choice. It defines where the product works well, who it can serve at a price they'll actually pay, and which markets are worth going to next.
